HOW TO MEASURE YOUR BRA SIZE
Establish your size in 3 simple steps
In this guide we will go over all you need to know when measuring your bra size. You only need a mirror and a measuring tape to establish your bra size. If you follow the steps closely as described below, you’ll be one step closer to finding the right bra size for you.
When measuring yourself there are three things you should establish:
- What is my underbust width?
- What is my bust circumference?
- What is my cup size?
We are going to help you answer these questions quickly and easily.
Make sure you are wearing your most comfortable bra. Preferably this is a non-padded or light padded bra. Do not wear a heavily padded bra or a push up bra as it does not present the real size. Go to the mirror with your measuring tape. You can use inches or centimetres, whichever you are comfortable with but for this guide, we will use inches.
1. Measuring the under bust
Proceed to measure the under bust width with your measuring tape. Place the measuring tape around your ribcage, directly under your bust where your back band sits. Make sure the tape is wrapped around just right, not too tight and not too loose. Check in the mirror if the measuring tape goes completely horizontally around your body. In other words, the measuring tape should sit level on your back in parallel with your front.
Note down the tape measurement and round the number up if needed.
2. Measuring the bust circumference
Place the measuring tape on the fullest part of your bust. Again, check in the mirror if your measuring tape is completely horizontally wrapped around your body. Make sure that the measuring tape sits fairly loose on your body, as to not squeeze your breasts.
3. Establish the cup size
Subtract your bust circumference size (Step 2) to your underbust size (Step 1). Take the results and use our cup size chart below to figure out your cup size.
Sample calculation:
Underbust Size: 34 in
Bust Circumference Size: 41 in
Difference: 7 inches
Cup Size: F
Bra Size: 34 F
